About the Programme

The EU PRO development programme, funded by the European Union with 25 million Euros, is aimed to contribute to more balanced socio-economic development of Serbia. The Programme has the goal of providing a contribution to the enhancement of the competitiveness of micro and small enterprises, improvement of business environment and deepening social cohesion in 99 local self-governments in two regions: the Region of Šumadija and West Serbia and the Region of South and East Serbia. Field activities of this three-year programme which started in January 2018 are implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in cooperation with the Government of Serbia.

The Programme is continuing the good practices and results of its predecessors, the EU PROGRES and European PROGRES programmes.

About the Call

Total budget of the Call for provision of grants to entrepreneurs, micro and small enterprises is 2.5 million Euros. This initiative is one of the activities financed by the European Union through the EU PRO development programme with the aim of providing an impetus to the development of the private sector and increasing market potential in order to create conditions for opening new jobs.

Entrepreneurs, micro and small enterprises registered for manufacturing in one of the 99 local governments involved in the implementation of the EU PRO program and established in the period from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2018 may apply.

The individual grant amount can range from € 10,000 to € 30,000. Fast-growing and export-oriented businesses and entrepreneurs can apply for up to € 70,000. The applicant must secure his or her own share in the investment of at least 20% or 30% if applying for a grant in excess of € 30,000. Applicants should also propose certain socially responsible activities that they will carry out if they are approved a grant. Read more about the criteria and reporting in the documents below.

Selection of beneficiaries will be conducted on the basis of the submitted project proposals and supporting documentation in accordance with the selection criteria published in the Call. EU PRO will conduct verification visits to the applicants selected through the technical evaluation.
