EU Supports Reconstruction of the Centre for Cultural Activities in Vladičin Han

With the support of the European Union, the facility of the Centre for Cultural Activities, Tourism and Librarianship is being reconstructed in Vladičin Han, in order to improve the conditions for organising cultural and other events and for conducting numerous activities of this institution.

The reconstruction works encompass the complete replacement of the roof structure, facade and joinery in order to increase energy efficiency and, consequently, save the running costs.

The total value of the project, which also includes minor works on the reconstruction of the heating and electrical systems, is 167,000 Euros of which the European Union is allocating close to 144,000 Euros through the EU PRO Programme, and the remaining amount is financed by the Municipality of Vladičin Han.

After reconstruction, conditions will be created for the implementation of the plan, to move the library, which is now in an inadequate space, to a renovated facility that will provide significantly better working conditions for employees and library members. Additional conditions will be created for opening a reading room within the library, in accordance with the regulations on library operations.

Through activities aimed at the implementation of the principles of good governance, which are an integral part of the project implementation, the manner of use of the premises as well as the allocation of the saved funds due to energy efficiency will be regulated. These activities are carried out in partnership with the Swiss PRO Programme supported by the Government of Switzerland.

The contractor is the company “Crna Trava AD” from Leskovac, which was selected through the public procurement procedure conducted by the Municipality of Vladičin Han, while the deadline for the completion of the reconstruction is 120 calendar days.

The project Reconstruction of the Centre for Cultural Activities, Tourism and Librarianship in Vladičin Han is funded by the European Union in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Serbia through the EU PRO Programme. Complementary project activities related to the implementation of the principles of good governance are carried out in cooperation with Swiss PRO Programme supported by the Government of Switzerland.
